Zarine Manchanda, born into a prominent political family near Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, was the daughter of a Minister and businessman. After completing her education, she moved to Mumbai to pursue acting but later shifted her career focus. In 2019, Zarine founded the Zarine Manchanda Foundation in Mumbai, delivering over 500 food and clothing donation programs, even during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Expanding into hospitality, she opened the luxurious Zarine Manchanda Café, known for its unique experience. Acknowledged for her philanthropy and business success, Zarine has received numerous awards, including the Nelson Mandela Peace Award and “Power Woman Award,” and was appointed Regional Director for BRICS in 2021.
In 2023, Zarine Manchanda launched Flavours of Himachal Pradesh, a 7-star restaurant in Mumbai, the city’s first dedicated to Himachali cuisine. Specializing in Dham, a traditional vegetarian thali, the restaurant showcases the rich culinary heritage of Himachal Pradesh, with chefs skilled in Dham cooking from the region. Building on her philanthropic and entrepreneurial success, Zarine is now pursuing her long-standing political aspirations. She has established The Zarine Manchanda People’s Party and plans to contest the 2024 elections in Mumbai’s Andheri West. As a social activist, she aims to advocate for the city’s poorest communities and drive meaningful change.
