Background-
Ardonagh has appointed Mallory Motley as head of international placement. She joins the group’s placement team from TMF Group and will report to Ron Hayes, who heads group placement.
Motley spent close to a decade at Marsh, rising to managing director in its insurer consulting group for the UK and Ireland. There, she managed relationships with global insurers and led the development of its insurer advisory proposition. At TMF Group, she served as global head of corporate clients, client strategy and commercial operations, overseeing global sales, marketing and commercial operations across its corporate business.
She will work with businesses across the group to find ways to deliver greater value for clients. Her insurer-side background helps her build the advisory relationships that sit between a large broker and its major capacity providers.
The hire comes as Ardonagh, valued at $14 billion after a $2.5 billion investment led by Stone Point Capital in late 2024, places about $18 billion in gross written premium each year, according to its own figures. The group wants insurers to deal with it through structured engagement rather than separate relationships across its businesses.
Ardonagh has built the data tools to support that. It launched Ardonagh Intelligence in March 2025 and Axiiem, a specialty insurtech, in June 2026.
Chris Lay, operating partner at Ardonagh Capital Partners, said the group intends to bring its scale into full view through its data and placement power.
