Insights Care Magazine, one of the most successful magazines globally, welcomes us with the President and CEO of the award-winning Humboldt Park Health, a veteran health care leader with a rich mixed varied history of decades-long professional experience working in health care. His vision has caused the hospital to quite significantly shift directions toward health equity. Through his long experience and expertise, he will devise novel solutions that respond to the varied needs of all the patients in the quest to provide quality services. José R. Sánchez has been under healthcare experience for more than 40 years in Chicago and New York City.
He has also gained positive experience and knowledge from his own experience working with health disparities with communities of color. Mr. Sánchez’s rich experience of becoming a member at Humboldt Park Health has been significantly shaped by his diversified experiences with some of the city’s most under-served populations in the New York City area. These experiences instilled in him a tremendous respect for the unique needs of the oppressed, and to desire to leave his own legacy. He learned to be situational, accountable, and to make situational decisions from this experience.
Mr. Sánchez, while working, has worked in many leadership positions in health organizations that aim to improve the provision of healthcare even more. When informed of the mission and values of Humboldt Park Health, empowering poor communities and serving them, he was like he was home at last. His experience and belief correspond to the hospital vision and hence a value addition to the hospital.
Mr. Sánchez oversees the Research and Development (R&D) operations currently. He also oversees the development of a Wellness Center and Master Plan Development of Humboldt Park Health, including construction of 100 units of affordable housing in Phase I. He oversees the purchase of equipment to be used in improving diagnosis and health outcomes for the patients as well.
