Ram Gopalakrishnan has taken the helm of Vadilal Industries USA’s international business, stepping in as the company’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer. He arrives at the Indian ice cream maker carrying years of leadership built through roles at Nestle Health Science, Clorox, and Procter & Gamble.
Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Gopalakrishnan described the moment as a full circle in his career. Two decades of building brands at Procter & Gamble, Clorox, and Nestle in the United States, he said, set him up for this opportunity to grow an internationally recognised, Indian-origin ice cream brand.
Prior to joining Vadilal, Gopalakrishnan spent time at Ethos Pet Brands, where he began as Chief Digital and eCommerce Officer before being promoted to Chief Growth Officer. Before that chapter, he took on the General Manager role at Nestle Health Science, overseeing direct-to-consumer and omnichannel work across its health and nutrition brands.
His professional path started in engineering. Gopalakrishnan worked as a product engineer at Micron Technology and later as a design engineer at Intel, before moving into brand management at Unilever and then Procter & Gamble. During his seven years at Procter & Gamble, he contributed to Cascade, Pampers, and various growth efforts spanning brand strategy, sales, and e-commerce.
He then joined The Clorox Company for more than five years, first leading e-commerce operations across platforms including Amazon and Walmart.com, and later taking charge of marketing and commercial strategy for the Kingsford brand. Stints at Nestle Health Science and Ethos Pet Brands followed, bringing him to his current post overseeing Vadilal’s international operations.
