Background-

RPG Life Sciences Ltd has made its second acquisition in two months in the active pharmaceutical ingredients segment, through its wholly-owned subsidiary RPG Active Pharma Ltd (RPGAP).

RPGAP has signed a Business Transfer Agreement to acquire the API and intermediates business of Raghava Life Sciences Private Ltd on a going-concern basis through a slump sale, for a consideration of up to ₹135 crore.

The move follows last month’s transfer of RPGLS’s own API business to RPGAP, alongside its planned acquisition of Visakhapatnam-based Actis Generics Private Ltd.

The company said the latest deal marks the next step in RPGAP’s buy-and-build strategy to create an integrated, scaled API-focused organisation. It added that the acquisition strengthens RPGAP’s manufacturing base, product portfolio, regulatory capabilities and customer reach across markets, building on the recent Actis deal.

Raghava operates a modern, WHO-GMP and EU-GMP approved manufacturing facility near Hyderabad, spread across about 9 acres with roughly 300 KL of installed capacity and a dedicated research setup.

The business includes 22 commercialised APIs and 7 development-stage assets across diabetes, cardiovascular, CNS and other therapy areas, along with revenues of about ₹19 crore in FY26.

Ashok Nair, Managing Director of RPG Life Sciences, said the acquisition brings a high-quality manufacturing asset and strong customer relationships, adding that the focus going forward is on unlocking value through better commercialisation and capacity utilisation.

Lohith Ponguleti, Managing Director of Raghava Life Sciences, said the company has built a differentiated business with strong technical capabilities and growth potential.
