Background-

Yoshihiro Nagai steps up from president and representative director to chairman and CEO, representative director. Taking his place as president and director is Kenji Kuboshita, who currently serves as executive officer and managing director. Kuboshita carries years of leadership work behind him and a solid history of steering client wins and business growth.

Nagai got his start at Dentsu back in 1985, where he took on senior roles across the group’s operations abroad. He came to I&S BBDO in 2018, climbed from executive officer to president, director, and reached president and representative director by 2021.

His time working across global markets has fed directly into the company’s growth. Going forward, he will keep watch over all three companies under the I&S BBDO umbrella in Japan and team up with the wider Omnicom network to keep growth on a steady path.

Kuboshita’s history with I&S BBDO stretches back to 1990, when he oversaw marketing and communications for clients at home and abroad. He spent 2004 through 2019 at Havas Worldwide Japan in leadership posts before returning to I&S BBDO in 2019 and taking on the executive officer title in 2022.

His 35-plus years in the field have gone toward forging solid client relationships. In his new post, he takes charge of day-to-day operations at I&S BBDO and works alongside sister Omnicom firms in Japan.

Nagai spoke highly of Kuboshita’s track record with clients and the business, saying he looks forward to working alongside him going forward. Sean Donovan, who leads Omnicom Advertising Asia, called Nagai’s leadership a driving force behind the agency’s shape and said he trusts Kuboshita to carry that momentum into a new phase. Kuboshita, for his part, said he plans to lean on the agency’s creative roots to keep delivering for clients.
