Background:
A group of innovative Northern Ireland tech SMEs is set to boost exports and create 33 new jobs following a combined investment of more than £4 million. The announcement was made during Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald’s visit to Ormeau Labs in Belfast, where several of the companies are based. The Minister highlighted the vital role SMEs play in the region’s economy and the importance of providing targeted support to help them scale internationally.
The seven companies have received support from Invest NI to grow and create jobs. This help has allowed them to improve their products, boost productivity, and expand into markets such as Great Britain, Ireland, and the United States.
Bia Analytical, a Queen’s University-based company specialising in AI-driven food integrity solutions, is expanding its team with six new roles as it pushes forward with commercialising its food fraud detection products. Enzai, which provides software to help organisations manage and use technology responsibly, will create five new roles to support its growing customer base across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Galvia Digital and Medinect are investing in new equipment and hiring more staff to grow in the US. Movetru is expanding its team to improve its sports tech platform and reach more markets. Rubik Technologies is creating six new jobs to support its work with manufacturers, while TieDot is adding three roles to grow its marketing data services.
Susan O’Kane, Head of Regional Business for the Belfast City Region at Invest NI, said the organisation’s support of nearly £590,000 has helped unlock over £4.1 million in private-sector investment. She added that these companies reflect the strength of Northern Ireland’s growing £3.4 billion tech sector and its potential to drive future economic growth.
