Key Background:
Meta has finally launched its Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses in India, fusing classic eyewear design with advanced wearable technology. Co-designed with EssilorLuxottica, the glasses mark Meta’s arrival in the Indian market as it introduces augmented reality and AI-powered wearables to one of its largest global user bases. The glasses range from ₹29,900, targeting those who appreciate style along with smart functionality.
The most recent next-gen smart glasses are now powered by a 12-megapixel camera capable of shooting 60-second 1080p video, as well as allowing hands-free content creation by voice command. Open-ear speakers and internal microphones enhance communication and audio streaming so users can answer calls and listen to music without having to remove their glasses. The glasses can even go live on Facebook and Instagram directly and become an extension of the natural Meta social flow.
The glasses run on Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 processor, which gives 32GB of storage and four hours of usage continuously on one charge. The charging case delivered offers up to 36 hours of combined battery life. The glasses are water-resistant (IPX4 rated) as well, so they are convenient for regular use and shifting circumstances.
Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses come in a variety of styles, including classic Wayfarer and a new Skyler frame, which is available in sun, clear, or prescription lenses. They can be controlled by their device and receive photo and video transfer, voice command configuration, and use of Meta AI features like real-time translation, object recognition, and music recognition with the Meta View app.
This new product release is Meta’s another step towards consumer hardware expansion in India. With increasing consumer demand for intelligent devices, Meta’s move may pave the way for products like Quest VR headsets in the future, making Indian consumers’ digital lifestyle system even stronger.
