Background

Station F, a Paris-based startup hub founded by French billionaire Xavier Niel, is preparing a new edition of its F/ai accelerator programme to strengthen its position as a launchpad for promising AI startups.

Launched earlier this year, F/ai will begin its second batch in September, aiming to help AI-focused startups move from early product to real revenue within weeks.

Spanning 538,000 square feet, Station F is often described as a co-working space, though its influence extends well beyond its physical footprint, according to director Roxanne Varza. The hub’s Future 40 annual selection highlights the most promising teams among roughly 1,000 companies it welcomes each year, with nearly all of last year’s cohort building AI into their core business.

The first F/ai cohort was backed by major tech companies including AMD, Anthropic, AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI and OpenAI. The upcoming batch will add names such as Eleven Labs, Nebius, Rippling, OpenRouter, HubSpot and GitHub, Varza said, adding that the goal was to make it easier for AI startups entering Europe to connect with major players.

Two startups from the first batch, Alpic and Rippletide, have already gained international recognition through separate competition wins. The programme targets €1 million in revenue per startup within six months, aiming to match the commercialisation pace seen among US startups.

The first cohort raised $34 million in pre-seed funding collectively, with 80% of the 20 startups founded by repeat entrepreneurs. Varza noted that Station F wants founders to build global connections without needing to relocate to the US.
