Key Background
Award-winning “Trusts & Estates” lawyer Chioma Deere has been honored by the International Career and Business Alliance (ICABA) as one of its 2025 “Women of Impact.” The honor is one of Black women creating game-changing impact in business, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship. The honors were bestowed during ICABA’s Lifestyle Summit, held annually in Fort Lauderdale, to recognize 15 phenomenal women for their industry leadership and inspirational influence.
Deere addressed the summit’s “Legacy and Wealth Building” panel, where she applied her estate planning and legacy protection skills. Her award is a testament to her commitment to not just holding on to wealth, but to empowering families and individuals with the tools to leave lasting legacies. With over a decade of practice as an attorney, her own practice has been characterized by thoughtful advice, empathy, and assertive planning.
As Managing Partner of SSRGA’s Boca Raton office, Deere practices at the leading edge of integrity and people-leadership. Her supervisor described her as a “purposeful and principled” lawyer who models law practice excellence and mentoring. Deere’s practice remains at the leading edge of estate law, elder care, Medicaid preservation, and digital asset planning.
Her reach extends beyond her legal practice. Deere is a volunteer member of the Palm Beach County Black Chamber of Commerce and holds leadership roles for the Palm Beach County Bar Association and other initiatives, including The Links, Incorporated and the Palm Health Foundation. Her position on the advisory board of fintech firm CHIP suggests her interest in financial well-being innovation.
Raised in the Bronx, New York, and born in Jamaica, Deere’s journey towards being legal includes establishing her own law firm business before earning entry into SSRGA in 2025. Her history is one of resilience, calling, and a built-in desire to help others via law.
